Gabe spent the morning in the back yard catching toads. He caught two and put them in the jar for about 30 minutes before he released them. Ryder wanted to get his hands on them pretty badly but Gabe wouldn't let him touch them. He was not happy about that....
Gabe wanted a "deer hunting" birthday party this year. He shares the month of January with his cousin Uriah so we had their birthday parties together. When I asked Gabe what kind of cake he wanted he said, "Peanut butter and jelly of course". So I made a white cake and put strawberry jelly for the filling and used peanut butter frosting. He's not much of a cake eater but he did get the piece with the deer head and ate the picture off the top and left the rest. Some of the gifts he received were a nerf target game, transformer robot, wii game, sea monkeys, pop gun, and a sack of half dollars.
We didn't get much accomplished today (not that we had anything to do). The kids were pretty much in their pajamas all day which made for a pretty nice, lazy day. Julie and Carter came over to play and the kids kept busy dressing up, watching movies, playing with the train set and playing hide and seek with Ryder as the seeker most of the time. They would go hide and he would run around and find them with a toy golf club in his hand taking a swing at them when he found them.
